Welcome to my stop on the Naughty New Years Bloghop

hop_SkyeWarrenNY

It’s that time again! When all of us to reflect on 2012 and figure out what the hell we’re going to do about that shiny new year staring us in the face.

2013_03

Author-wise, I’ve got a lot of plans this year. I’m starting a new project with my best friend, Cari Quinn, and we’re so excited about it! We’re writing an ultra sexy series called Lost in Oblivion that chronicles the band Oblivion.

Our first book will tell the origin story of Oblivion as they go from a garage band with a dream, to the reality of insta-fame thanks to a breakout song for a Soundtrack. We’re going to do that through a teaser novella that will come out in the next few months. Then really push boundaries with longer novels that go in depth with all the individual band members.

Is there anything sexier than a lead singer that looks like this? Simon

or how about a bassist that looks like this: Deacon

Umm… Yes please.

Oh and putting together a website for it. Even more fun! (I’m a freak. I love designing sites.)

As an author a new year is full of new projects, a new calendar, and so many possibilities. We want the next year to be better than the last. Even MORE than we want to plan that New Year, New You plan that always ends in a gym membership you won’t really use. LOL

But one thing we can do is give everyone a chance to win something they really WILL use. Everyone that enters a reply here not only gets a chance to win my giveaway, but they’re entered in a GRAND PRIZE giveaway that includes a $100 Gift Certificate to EdenFantasys.

GRAND PRIZE GIFT CARD

AND 10 sexy books to put all those toys, candles, and bubble bath to good use.

Gift Bag of Super Sexy Books

To enter it’s REALLY easy! All you have to do is REPLY to this question. Since I’m writing a series about musicians I want to know what attracts you to a musician? Is it the talent, the look, a combination, or is it something else completely?

And if you don’t give a crap about musicians in books tell me why. Because I’m seriously curious. ;)

Reply here for a chance to win one of my books (in the ebook format of your choice) from my catalog.

Oh and don’t forget to visit all the other blogs for more prizes PLUS increase your chances for the grand prize!

Musicians aren’t my thing. I have never really thought about why though. I guess it is because I don’t see either them or actors as real people. When I watch them they are interesting but that is just not who they are, that is only a persona they project.

What draws me to a musician is the music, if the lyrics touch me and the music makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, I pay attention. Some musicians are really great at expressing their emotions through their songs. Thats what makes the singer beautiful to me. Well, a hot bod always helps too!

Omg I am so excited to read that you are working on a musician series. You know I will be along for that ride. So you want to know what it is about musicians that does it for me, well let me tell you that I am not too sure exactly what it is. I think part of it is the swagger, the shear raw power of commanding an audience. It’s that I’ve got you right where I want you, and I am taking you where I want you to go attitude that I find very appealing and oh so very hot!! Now that being said, my ideal sexy musician is also somewhat humble. He knows what hes got and he’s not afraid to use it but he also doesn’t take it for granted. There is just something about that musician sharing their talent and taking me on a journey whether its through theIreland whaling on the guitar or belting out a tune, its such a rush. Another thing I discovered is that it doesn’t necessarily have to be a guy either- I recently went to a Heart concert and was just blown away. While Nancy Wilson was up there shredding away on her guitar and Ann was belting out those lyrics I couldn’t help my self from saying “Holy Shit it’s even Hot when a chick does it! So there you have it, a little insight into what does it for me and somehow I have no doubt that your new series will be just what I like. Rock On Ms Taryn and I nope to see you on the road :D

Hello my lovely. Thanks so much for stopping by and this awesome post.
I know exactly how you feel about the female leads too. Losing yourself in the music isn’t bound by sexuality in any way. And sweet hello, Nancy can SING IT!

Lucky I have both boys and girls in my series. We have a kickass female drummer that will be a whole lot of trouble. ;)

A musician series? OMG!! Can’t wait to read that! To answer your question, for me it’s the look and talent of course, but these need to be also combined with the emotions and passion they deliver when singing a song. And please… never any lipsynching!! I can’t stand that.

If a singer has the look, the talent, the emotions and the passion… like a certain Jon Bon Jovi, I’m sold!!

    Happy New Year everyone!!

To answer your question about what draws me to musicians…. well it’s a variety of things. Their personal style of what they wear, the type of music they sing, the songs themselves, and if they play an instrument, well the way they play that instrument. For example: I LOVE guitarists. The personal touches they put in their playing style, the way they sing, the way they dress… it’s all cohesive. It’s not just the fact that they play music… it’s everything.

That’s my answer… and my entry to your sweepstakes. :)

Every musician I’ve ever met that drew me in was a drummer, there’s something very understated about the drummer, they don’t get half the attention the flashy front men do and yet they’re the glue that holds the band together. And have you seen those arms! YUM!
Plus every drummer I’ve ever met seems to have a very naughty playful side . . . *sigh*
    There’s just something about muso’s isn’t there?
    Anyway, great question!
I can’t wait for this book, it sounds right up my alley!
Thanks so much for the giveaway and Happy New Year!

I love the talent, but I tend to be attracted to the tattooed shirtless drummers. lol A sexy voiced lead singer doesn’t hurt either.

Gee lots of things. They are all a little different. But I definitely love a man who can either sing or play an instrument.

The talent is the most important thing. That, and the songs they write/sing. For example, I love Fun’s lead singer even though he’s not really considered a hottie, but I absolutely love him and his music.

A combination; the talent, the look, charisma, heart, definitely sex appeal. Musicians can be good, but when they lack humility it takes away from the attraction, at least for me. I don’t like arrogant people that includes the pretty crowd. Thanks for the giveaway!

There seems to be that “bad boy” image that comes with musicians. Lends itself to the sex appeal. I have read a few with musicians and liked them.

i LOVE musicians. i love the passion, especially if they write their own stuff. and i just think people that can play music and sing well are freaks of nature and i am humbled by the talent. it takes a lot of dedication and it is just hot when someone works so hard for something they love. thanks for the hop! happy 2013.

      I totally agree.
IT takes a special sort of someone to let the music own them because it usually does. Heart and soul.

Thank you everyone. The responses have been AMAZING. Thoughtful, funny and everything in between. I’m glad to see there’s some interest in my project with Cari Quinn.

    We’re so damn excited!

You guys have been SO awesome on this hop. And it’s all thanks to Skye Warren, so make sure you at least land on her page.

What a fabulous opportunity she put together for all of us authors.
